Something else we’re super excited for is the announcement of this month’s Salon of the Month. Without further ado, all the way from Sunderland. It’s The Oraculum!
Founded by Maddi Cook and Annie Ridley, the Oraculum launched in its first premises in March 2015. They had both come to realise that the North East of the UK was crying out for a wonderful, quirky new salon. So collaboratively, that’s exactly what they delivered. However, they quickly outgrew their surroundings and ended up having to relocate in July 2016.
The Oraculum has satisfied their clients calls for a salon with a difference. With such large desires to fill, how do they overcome major challenges? Here’s what they shared with us.
“It’s important to have a fantastic team, great environment and strong brand ethos. However, it’s also important to stay ahead of the curve, create your own trends and not be afraid to go against the grain.”
With any difficult challenge which proves to be successful, there are always stories of great successes and fantastic highlights to celebrate. The Oraculum’s best moments include being named ‘Salon of the Year’ by their biggest regional newspaper within months of opening. Since then they’ve collected numerous award nominations and are regulars at trade shows and in local press features. Pretty impressive!

We were dying to know what The Oraculum’s defining factor was; what’s to be expected when you walk through those salon doors? They said,
“We treat our clients exactly how we would want to be treated. We remember back in our younger years, going into a high street salon and asking for green hair with an undercut, and being looked at like we had ten heads! Now, that is exactly the kind of work we love to do! Our clients get treated to fresh coffee, snacks and lunch if they’re in for a big colour change! The thing we hear most from our clients is that they feel relaxed and like they are hanging out with friends when they visit; this is really important to us.”
The Oraculum was first introduced to INNOluxe about a year ago, they told us they came across our brand when they saw other salon’s who inspired them using the product. After trying multiple bond builders they still hadn’t found one with the ‘WOW factor’ as well as an affordable retail product for clients to keep up the results at home.

So now, one year in, how are they getting on you ask? They said,
“Clients absolutely love it! Around 80% of our colour clients have INNOluxe added to their colour every time. Some clients have told us that having INNOluxe protecting their hair, they’ve been able to achieve long-term growth, strength and colour goals. Ultimately, it helps us to push the boundaries and since our target market are those who change their colour often it’s helped us help them!
